I am going to buy the new iMac and I was wondering which of these two speakers to get! I just want a nice pair if 2.0 speakers.

Here are links to the images of the 2 products on the Apple Store:

Bose Companion 2 Series II or JBL Duet III?

I like Bose but not enough to purchase the Bose Companion 2 Series II or JBL III. In either case the sound quality would make me mad. They both should be ashamed of themselves. My recommendation is this. You have one of the better Apple computer builds, one that all other competitors use as a bench mark for performance. If you can't do it right, wait until Christmas and get a 2.1 set that will be on par with your equipment. The imac already has built in speakers, the one's you suggest has one difference the designer name with the same sound as the internal speakers in your existing unit. You would be infinitely pleased with a set of Harmon Kardon Soundsticks II. I think they run $103 to $111 on Amazon. You can listen to a pair in the Apple Store, they sound wonderful. If you can help it, always get something on par with what you have already purchased. Though the Soundsticks have their issues, but Harmon Kardon as a company is on par with Apple. The same can be said for over the ear headphones, get a really good pair. I say this respectfully, you don't go out and buy an Italian suit, then get a wool tie.

Best.
