Mac Pro Or Custom PC?

Mac Pro Or Custom PC?

Postby kealy » Mon Jun 28, 2010 1:45 pm

Hey guys I am really indecisive between a Mac Pro or a Custom PC, I just don't know what to do. I do a lot of photo and film editing and lots of gaming and currently I use a iMac but I need something more powerful (Mostly graphics and CPU speed). Also I need something that will last me a while. I know the Mac Pro can run Windows in boot camp and has some great graphics cards for Mac Pro's, But I am really confused guys. Any answers are greatly appreciated, Thank You :) BTW I am not worrying too much about price.

Build a PC. If you have to ask whether you need a Mac Pro, you don't.

I'd personally go with a custom PC, but it's up to you.

If price isn't a consideration then go for the Mac Pro.

Although if you're hardware savvy you can build yourself a custom Hackintosh PC and in the process save yourself a couple of hundred bucks, but this is obviously a little harder to implement.

If gaming is your thing, custom PC is the way to go. Losing iMovie will really hurt your video editing, but Windows has some OK video editing software.

i would suggest getting the 8 core mac pro. You will be able to dual boot windows and game from there while having the video software available in osx. There are video editing programs for pc that work.
