hi im currently looking at the 2010 models for macbook pros :)
im a student going to high school soon, and i really need a new laptop.

im currently deciding between 13 inch macbook pro 2.66gHz and 15 inch macbook pro 2.4 gHz and 15 inch 2.53 gHz.

im looking for portability, but i have heard that even the 15 inch mbp 2.4 gHz is faster than 13 inch 2.66gHz due to the i5 core processor? im really particular about the speed.

pls recommend which laptop i should buy thanks! :)

The Core i5 processor in the entry-level 15" MacBook Pro model is significantly faster than the Core 2 Duo in the 13" MacBook Pro models.

Since you are "really particular about the speed," you may find the 15" to be the better choice. However, if your needs are basic, a 13" model likely would work well and it's your decision whether or not the larger display and extra performance is worth the extra money to you.

The i5 is a dual core processor, but it has hyperthreading enabled, letting it run like a QUAD core processor. In short, it's definetly faster than the Core 2 duo. Also, the 15 inch 2010 MBP has a graphcis card thats at least 3 or 4 times as fast as the one in the 13 inch models...

If you want speed, get the 15" mbp.

A computer's speed isn't all about its clock speed (GHz). The 13" Macbooks run on a Core 2 Duo processor, which is significantly slower than the 15" Macbooks' newer Core i5 processor. Your battery will probably last a bit longer on the 13", plus, it's cheaper and more portable than the 15". Aside from that though, the 15" Macbook wins in all other aspects. Get the 15".

The 15" model is faster since it has the i5 instead of the Core 2. The video card in the 15" is also better giving you more of a performance boost when it comes to graphics.

I would go with the 15" macbook as well. The extra screen space can be valuable, besides the performance is on par.
